A couple of months ago a friend of mine was bragging about going to the Daytona 500 for the weekend. My response was, "Big deal. I'm going to the Bentley 500." Several weeks later, we met again and compared notes. I was right. I had a better time than he did.
This is the eighth year that Bentley Elementary kindergartners have shown off their creativity, building cars with all sorts of materials necessary to make their cool contraptions suitable for racing.
Principal Ron Nathan emceed the proceedings, as Assistant Principal Susan Sperrazza and Tanya Collazo, secretary at the school, waved checkered flags at the beginning and end of the race.
